General Topics Public Programs

The League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson (LWVGT) sponsors four to six diverse topic, Public Programs per year, hosting expert panel members to explore important issues. The programs are free and open to the public. They are presented live at a community location, virtually on Zoom, and live-streamed on the LWVGT Facebook page.

League members are needed to help plan and conduct the programs. League members can serve on the planning committee for any or all of the programs. Volunteer roles at the events include moderator, question sorter, and timer.

Environment-related public program

Environmental issues have been identified as a major focus of League study. The League of Women Voters has drafted several position statements about environmental concerns which guide our action and advocacy. We seek to educate ourselves and others in our community about the facts behind environmental concerns and the ways in which we can exercise our power as citizens to make changes in our own future.
